Season 2: Rise & Resonate

Talk Show Description

Welcome to Let’s Talk About The Music

Hello, I’m Shels L Pix Honeysuckle, and welcome to Let’s Talk About The Music (LTATM) — a live radio talk show centered on music, creativity, and the people who shape local and global scenes.

This isn’t just another music talk show. LTATM is a space for real, in-depth conversations about the stories behind the songs, the experiences that shape artists, and the role music plays in our lives. With both academic training and hands-on experience, I’ve spent years studying music as both an art form and a cultural force.

What the Show Is About

Every episode of Let’s Talk About The Music is a conversation.

Sometimes that conversation is with musicians.
Sometimes with industry professionals.
Sometimes it’s a focused discussion on a topic that matters.

What makes LTATM different is that guests aren’t treated as simple interview subjects — they become conversation partners. Together, we explore a topic chosen by the guest, looking at its history, influence, and relevance today before shifting into their personal journey and creative perspective.

This show is not about press cycles, tour announcements, or quick promo spots. Instead, LTATM focuses on meaningful themes such as:

  • the healing power of music

  • mental health and creativity

  • representation and inclusion in the industry

  • the human experiences behind the art

These conversations go beyond music — they explore the people who create it.

Podcast & Radio Format

  • Live broadcast: Tuesdays, 9–10 PM (PST)

  • Occasional extended episodes: Up to two hours for special discussions

  • On-demand: Episodes are available after broadcast via audio and video platforms

LTATM is recorded live for radio and later made available on-demand, maintaining the authenticity and energy of real-time conversation.

LTATM Blogs

Every episode is accompanied by a blog post on the official LTATM website. These posts:

  • Summarize the episode discussion

  • Highlight guest co-hosts

  • Include links to artist websites and social platforms

Blogs help extend the conversation beyond the broadcast.

Guest & Music Submission Rules (Important)

To ensure Let’s Talk About The Music remains radio-safe and broadcast-compliant, all guests must follow the guidelines below.

Content Rules

  • No swearing or explicit language on air

  • Conversations must remain respectful and professional

Music Rules

  • Music must be submitted as MP3 files

  • Tracks must be radio edits only

  • No explicit lyrics or profanity

To keep the show structured and within broadcast standards, music selection is limited per episode:

  • Each two-hour may feature up to five (5) songs

Song Placement Breakdown

  • One song per guest, when applicable

  • One additional song may be used to introduce or tease the next episode

Please note: Submitting music does not guarantee airplay. Song selection is based on time availability, broadcast standards, and how well the track supports the conversation.

All submitted music must comply with LTATM broadcast guidelines.

These rules help keep the show accessible, inclusive, and aligned with professional radio standards.

Background & Experience

I spent six years studying podcasting and broadcasting at KGRG FM and KGRG1, while earning my AAA in Business Management at Green River College. That foundation shaped how I approach the show — blending thoughtful storytelling with an understanding of the music industry.

I am continuing my education at Central Washington University (CWU), further expanding my work in media, broadcasting, and music-focused storytelling.

The Journey Forward

I’ve spent years shaping Let’s Talk About The Music into something intentional — a show that values depth over hype and conversation over noise.

As LTATM continues to grow, I’m exploring new ways to make the show more interactive, including expanded audience engagement and future live Q&A opportunities.

The journey is still unfolding, and I’m glad you’re here.

Let’s Talk About The Music:
A New Kind of Music Talk Show

Each episode typically runs two-hour and is designed to feel natural, thoughtful, and welcoming — more like a shared conversation than a traditional interview.
