So let’s get into Episode 13: Looking Back at Season 1! Remember way back in Episode 1, when we focused on inspiring new musicians and how to break into the music industry? We had such a great time and fielded so many wonderful ideas that we had to break it into two parts. Sean from Lust for Glory (of Spokane, WA) and Corey Wold (once from 21 Day Coma but now in Pure Energy) came onto the show to help inspire young artists and musicians who are just trying to break out on their own, like Keith from CHAOS 101.

In Episode 2, we moved on to talking about managing a full-time career as an independent musician. Meghanne Storey (solo artist) and Melody and Evita of Way Past Midnight (out of New Jersey) chatted about the challenges of making a living from their music.

Episode 3 took us on a tribute to musicians in the military and featured Grace and Austin of Prickly Paranoia, who met while serving. They did a fabulous job of outlining the balance of performing while remaining on active duty.

In Episode 4, several musicians came together to discuss the huge impact of the pandemic on the worldwide music scene: Shauna Specht from Edmonton, Canada; Michael Makris and George Zois of the Aussie band King George; and Giselle of FATAL Butterfly, from our own PNW. CoVid gave a massive kick in the gut to independent music scenes everywhere, but our guests offered lots of insights on the promising recovery.

Do you remember what “recording to click” refers to? If not, you probably want to revisit Episode 5, where the amazing band Gilded Lilly went over this popular and practical method of using a metronome track when practicing, recording, and performing. It can be an invaluable tool for keeping a group in sync.

Episode 6 was my heart-felt love letter to all the incredible supporters of LTATM. I could not do this without you! Check back on this episode to get a reminder of how much you impact the production of the show.

Finally, Episode 7 addressed a topic near and dear to me: mental health. Nance from Guilded Lilly and Australian solo artist Helen Parris joined me in a lighthearted but insightful show on mental health maintenance. We had a fabulous time journeying through some of their songs concerning mental health issues. Don’t forget the special Spotify playlist created just for the show!

Remember, I’ll be doing this for every set of seven episodes, so stay tuned for more highlights!
